Overview
The Advanced Supervisor Academy is designed for supervisors, mid-level managers and high potential employees who want to accelerate their professional growth and development. The program provides a deep dive into competencies required to be an effective leader and high performer in today’s dynamic, fast-pace environment.
The program has 5 courses of 3 hours in length. Session topics include:
- Active Communication: Enabling Purposeful Engagement
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe key elements of clear communication
- Recognize common challenges to communicating effectively
- Demonstrate communication techniques to enhance messaging
- Define and identify active listening
- Use techniques to improve listening abilities
- Learn tools to allow the speaker to feel heard
- Recognize common challenges to listening attentively
- Communicate the Why of Decisions
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the importance of knowing what is behind the Why
- What to do when you don’t know the Why
- Explain the importance of communicating the Why
- How to communicate the Why to employees
- Plan and practice ways to effectively communicate the Why to employees
- Identify when a policy or plan is not well understood and take corrective action
- Selling Your Ideas: Creating Enterprise Wide Buy-In and Implementation
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Learn how to position ideas for organizational implementation
- How expertise, sincerity and trust builds credibility
- Identify and target key stakeholders
- Influence decision makers and groups
- Execute a successful rollout
- Leading Across Boundaries
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

- Learn the importance of understanding roles, responsibilities and processes

- Demonstrate personal accountability
- Hold employees accountable for their actions
