Background
The Greater Reading Economic Partnership helped TAB Industries locate in their current home, the Stone Pointe Business Center back in 2012. Since then, they have been expanding and growing their business. TAB Industries is a shining example of a company committed to making Greater Reading be something greater. In 2012, our strategic location, strong workforce and fabrication background attracted them here. In 2018, it continues to help their business succeed and grow.
TAB Industries Expands
TAB Industries, LLC, Reading, Pa., manufacturer of the TAB Wrapper Tornado line of orbital stretch wrappers (www.tabwrapper.com), recently celebrated the grand opening of an in-house machine shop. Encompassing 2,000 square feet in the company’s Reading, Pa. headquarters, the machine shop features MIG/TIG welder machines, a Bridgeport vertical machining center, CNC lathe/turning center, Edwards 55 Ton Ironworker machine with punching, shearing and forming, and a variety of tools and accessories. The machine shop is to add speed and efficiency in manufacturing to help keep pace with intense demand for the company’s TAB Wrapper Tornado line while also allowing for faster custom machine building, prototyping, and product research and development.
TAB Wrapper Tornado
The new machine shop expands the company’s metalworking capabilities beyond its fab shop, triggering the creation of two staff positions and the hiring of two, full-time machinists with several years of experience using the automated equipment. The new production capacity is expected to meet brisk sales projections for the TAB Wrapper Tornado line, according to Andy Brizek, vice president of sales and marketing. The TAB Wrapper Tornado line of orbital wrappers features patent-pending technology to automatically wrap plastic film 360 degrees around and under a pallet and its load to create a secure, unitized load. The TAB Wrapper Tornado wrapping machines wrap common pallet loads in 15 seconds with only a single operator.
