For half a century, Riverview Tree & Landscaping has been a beacon of beauty and inspiration in the Berks County community. Founded in 1973 by Donald A. Haas, the company has blossomed into one of the largest and most respected landscaping, garden centers and nurseries in the area. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we reflect on our journey and the impact we have had on our community.
Our belief in loving nature and loving home has been the guiding principle behind everything we do at Riverview. Situated on an 18-acre nursery, Riverview Tree & Landscaping and our retail store, Riverview Gardens & Gifts, offers an eclectic variety of indoor and outdoor flora, including trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials and houseplants. Our goal is to provide our customers with unique options while also carrying many beloved plant staples.
Our landscaping and maintenance crews have been the heart of Riverview from day one. These talented individuals have perfected the art of providing top-notch service to our community, offering a plethora of services. From transforming yards with exquisite hardscaping and landscaping elements to meticulously maintaining lawns and gardens, our crews bring dreams to life. Moreover, their skills extend to the installation of stunning walls, the artful design and implementation of serene ponds, and a whole range of other remarkable services. Riverview owes its picturesque charm to these exceptional teams, as they pour their hearts into every project, leaving a lasting imprint on our beloved community.
Additionally, Riverview is dedicated to educating the public. In 2010, we launched our year-round workshop and events program. This program aims to provide creative and nature-based education to the community. Today, we have a robust schedule of events for both adults and children, inspiring a love and curiosity for the natural world for generations to come.
We believe that with success comes a responsibility to give back. That’s why we have been volunteering with the Restoring Hope Foundation since its first build in 2011. Our President, Diane Salks, has been a member of the board of directors since 2012. Additionally, many of our public events are designed as fundraisers for local charities like our 50th Anniversary celebration this summer which supported seven local charities to ensure that our community remains strong and supported.
In addition to our commitment to education and charity, we are dedicated to delighting our customers with unique and unusual products. Our buyers constantly seek out new and exciting items for both individuals and homes. Whether you’re looking for beauty products, jewelry, books, gifts for children or home décor items, our collections offer a diverse range of choices.
As we reflect on our 50-year journey, we are humbled and grateful for the support of our community. It is through your continued patronage and enthusiasm for nature and home that we have been able to thrive. We hope you’ll continue to patronize us for many more years of growth and beauty. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives and for embracing our mission of loving nature and loving home. Here’s to the next 50 years!
