By Dallan Yoh, Director of Membership, GRCA
As the new Director of Membership for the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), I am excited to bring my extensive background in sales to this dynamic organization. With a career devoted to building and maintain relationships, understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions, I am eager to apply these skills to enhance the membership experience and grow our network of businesses in the Greater Reading area. Over the years, I have developed a keen understanding of what drives engagement, and I am confident that this expertise will contribute to a stronger, more connected business community amongst GRCA members.
My professional journey in sales has equipped me with a unique perspective on how to cultivate and maintain long-lasting business relationships. In previous roles, I have successfully led initiatives that focused on both customer acquisition and retention, ensuring that clients not only saw the value in their initial investment but also experienced ongoing support and growth opportunities. This experience will be crucial in my role at GRCA, where the goal is not only to increase membership but to create lasting value for every member.
On top of the skills and mindset that I have developed professionally, I am also fortunate to have deep roots in the Reading area. I was born in Reading, grew up in Robesonia where my family has lived for decades, and I am now living in Mohnton with my wife and one-year-old son. This has allowed me to have a personal connection and understanding of the area that I work in as well as the success of the businesses and people that reside here.
For the year ahead, my priorities will center around three key areas: member growth, engagement and retention. First, I aim to expand our membership base by identifying and reaching out to businesses and organizations that could benefit from the resources and opportunities GRCA provides. Greater Reading and the surrounding area are rich with businesses of all sizes across a multitude of industries, which creates an exciting opportunity to not only grow the GRCA’s membership base, but also diversify it as well. No business is too big or too small for GRCA, and I look forward to sharing membership information with them that would allow us to assist with their individual needs to succeed.
Second, member engagement will be a critical focus. I believe that the strength of any organization lies in the active participation of its members. At its core, member engagement is all about communication. Whether a member is just joining GRCA or has been a member for over 100 years, it is imperative that our members understand the resources included in their memberships and how to utilize them. I want to be proactive in ensuring that our members have the knowledge on how they can participate in GRCA events and opportunities without uncertainty about how to be involved. Member engagement is a key component for my final goal, which is retention.
While growth is important, maintaining strong relationships with our existing members is equally crucial, which is why retention is my third priority. My goal is to ensure that every member feels valued and supported throughout their membership journey. This will involve regularly checking in with members to assess their needs, gathering feedback on our programs and services, promoting their engagement and continually refining our offerings to ensure they meet the evolving needs of the business community.
I am honored to step into the role of Director of Membership for GRCA. With a focus on growth, engagement and retention, I am confident that we can not only expand our membership but also foster a more vibrant and connected business community.
