China | 2012
In April 2012, the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) led chamber members on a trip to China. From Beijing to Shanghai and cities along the way, members experienced an adventure. Here are a few highlights from that trip:
- Visit to Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world
- Bus excursion to the Great Wall
- Sightseeing in the Bund, a famous waterfront park
Budapest, hungary; Vienna, Austria; Prague, czech republic | 2014
In April 2014, GRCA led members on a trip through Eastern Europe. Here are a few highlights of that trip:
- City tour of Budapest that included the Parliament and Heroes’ Square
- A trip to Vienna’s main boulevard, to view Hofburg Palace, the Opera House, the monument of Empress Maria Theresia, Votive Church, City Hall, Belvedere Palace, Prater Amusement Park, and St. Stephen’s Cathedral
- A stop in Cesky Krumlov, a fairy-tale town with a maze of narrow cobbled streets.
Amalfi coast & Rome, Italy | 2017
In March of 2017, GRCA led members on a journey exploring the Amalfi Coast and Rome, Italy. Here are a few highlights of that trip:
- Full day of sightseeing on the Amalfi Coast
- Exploration of ancient city of Pompeii that was once covered in volcanic dust
- Privately guided tour of art and treasures in the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum
Spain & the Costa del sol | 2018
In March of 2018, GRCA accompanied members on a 9-day, 7-night adventure in Spain and the Costa Del Sol. Here are a few highlights of that trip:
- Soaking up sun on the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean
- Learning about bullfighting while exploring Plaza de Toros, the oldest bullring in Spain
- A scenic ferry trip to Tangier, Morocco
- A visit to the famous citadel and Alhambra Palace in Granada
The rhine river Cruise | 2019
In November of 2019, GRCA and its members boarded a ship for The Rhine River cruise, which took them through Switzerland, France, German, The Netherlands and more. Here are a few highlights from that trip:
- Tour of Strasbourg, France, the ancient capital of Alsace and one of Europe’s most well-known and beautiful cities
- Scenic cruise along the Moselle River to Cochem with wine tasting
- Visit an Amsterdam cheese farm to learn firsthand how acclaimed Dutch cheese is made
