Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center has always been intentional in our support of women both within our organization and throughout the community. When it comes to our women’s health program, we we have made specialized care for women’s health issues a priority because we recognize that women’s bodies differ from men’s in many subtle ways.
We offer:
- A team of minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons who specialize in treating a wide range of gynecologic conditions.
- A urogynecologist who specializes in treating all conditions of the female urinary and reproductive tract.
- A plastic surgeon who specializes in injectables, fillers and body contouring.
- A dermatologist who specializes in skin cancer as well as complex skin conditions like psoriasis, rosacea and eczema.
St. Joseph also continues to make it easier for women to access our services. If you’re a woman over 40 or you have a family history of breast cancer, a yearly screening mammogram is one of the most important things you can do to take care of yourself. Early detection gives you the best chance of beating breast cancer. Women now can schedule a 3D mammogram at our Exeter, Bern campus and Downtown Reading locations.
Our obstetrics providers, certified nurse midwives and pediatricians offer care close to home through several locations in Berks County. That strong focus on mother and child health care has led to Baby-Friendly USA designating St. Joseph as a Baby-Friendly Hospital, and Highmark Blue Shield recognizing our obstetrics and maternity team for outstanding patient care with a Blue Distinction® Center for Maternity Care designation.
