Transportation Resources
Commute PA
Commute PA provides free services to reduce traffic congestion in the region. They help commuters explore transportation options other than driving alone and engage employers who can provide transportation resources as an added benefit to their workforce. Commute PA offers a free ride-matching program to help commuters find a carpool, make smarter commute choices, record non-drive alone trips and qualify for special rewards. Commuters can be eligible for the Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program and qualify for special rewards by recording non-drive alone trips in Commute PA:
Record your carpool, vanpool, bike, walk or transit trips with the Commute PA ride-matching program and qualify for special rewards. Those enrolled in the Commute PA program who use and record at least two green trips per week for their work or higher education commute, by carpool, vanpool, bike, walk or transit, would be eligible for the Commute PA Emergency Ride Home reimbursement benefit.
Barta
Barta provides bus transportation servicing the City of Reading and Berks County.
FLiXBUS
FLiXBUS offers bus transportation to major cities throughout the region including Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Washington, D.C.
Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority
The Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority is working with rail companies, local governments, and state and federal agencies to restore passenger rail to Reading, Pottstown and Phoenixville with connections to Philadelphia and beyond.

The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance has partnered with the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce to gather wage and policy data from businesses across Berks County to create a valuable resource for employers. By participating in the Wage & Policies Survey, you’ll help build a clearer picture of local compensation trends, benefits and workplace policies—insights that directly support better decision-making for businesses like yours.
Regional Insights
Additional workforce and economic development data such as hourly wage reports (based on SOC codes) and industry overviews are available upon request through GRCA to support employers as they grow and compete for talent.
