Mark Krawiec, Director of Development – East Region, Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center
Tell us a bit about yourself and your business — your role, responsibilities and anything else you’d like members to know.
I serve as the Director of Development for Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, where I lead philanthropic strategy and community partnerships in support of advancing high-quality, compassionate healthcare across Berks County. My work focuses on building meaningful relationships with individuals, businesses and civic leaders to align charitable investment with the hospital’s most critical patient-care priorities and long-term impact.
What inspired you to become a GRCA Ambassador, and how has the role helped you connect with the Greater Reading business community?
I was inspired to become a GRCA Ambassador to deepen my connection to the Greater Reading community and contribute meaningfully to an organization that champions collaboration, economic vitality and regional growth. This role will provide invaluable opportunities to build authentic relationships with local business and civic leaders while strengthening partnerships that support both community well-being and organizational impact.
What’s one piece of advice or insight you’d share with fellow members or local business owners to help them get the most out of their GRCA membership?
Be intentional about engagement—attend events with a purpose, ask thoughtful questions and follow up to turn introductions into lasting relationships. The true value of GRCA membership comes from active participation and a willingness to collaborate beyond a single meeting or transaction.
What’s your favorite GRCA event or program, and why would you recommend it to other members?
“Networking at Night” is my favorite GRCA event because it creates a relaxed, engaging setting where authentic conversations and meaningful connections happen naturally. I highly recommend it to members as an efficient and enjoyable way to expand their network, strengthen relationships and stay actively connected to the Greater Reading business community.
How can fellow GRCA members reach out to you for support or guidance, and what’s the best way to contact you?
