Tara Foose, Customer Service Team Lead, AMMEGA
Tell us a bit about yourself and your business — your role, responsibilities and anything else you’d like members to know.
My name is Tara Foose. I grew up in Northern Virginia, the Washington DC Metro area, and now live in the woods in Mohnton, PA with a spoiled house hippo (pit bull). I have worked at various companies, including engineering, publishing, rugged displays, medical marijuana, but all in Customer Service / Sales Support. I currently work at AMMEGA, where we build modular conveyor belts, i.e. Legos that move boxes, bottles, cars, etc.
What inspired you to become a GRCA Ambassador, and how has the role helped you connect with the Greater Reading business community?
I became a GRCA Ambassador, as a happy accident, after attending so many GRCA events and networking opportunities. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about businesses within our community that are new or relatively unknown. It makes me feel connected to where I live and I’m loving living local.
What’s one piece of advice or insight you’d share with fellow members or local business owners to help them get the most out of their GRCA membership?
Stay involved and attend what you can. Events or seminars that provide insight into the benefits of membership can be very eye-opening. The Marketing assistance with things like Lucky Penny & the magazine article opportunities stand out as unique examples. But I think the best thing for any individual, is to keep it fun (not a chore), so you continue to be present, look forward to the next time, and therefore, get the most out of your membership because you’re excited and happy to be there.
What’s your favorite GRCA event or program, and why would you recommend it to other members?
Networking@Night is always fun! I love getting to check out businesses in the area, especially if I was not aware that they were there or what they accomplish(ed) or handle and it is only once a month, so it is a quick add to my schedule.
I also cannot hype enough: Taste of Berks! I have spent multiple solo-adventure days wandering Greater Berks with this program and it is a fantastic way to get to know some of the smaller businesses, meet the owner/operators and see what they are doing for our community
How can fellow GRCA members reach out to you for support or guidance, and what’s the best way to contact you?
Find me at a Networking@Night or on LinkedIn!
