Berks Women2Women, a special program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), is proud to announce the 2025 ATHENA Leadership Award and EmpowHER Award winners.
The ATHENA Leadership Award celebrates the exemplary leadership of a woman leader who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in their profession, provides valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in their community and actively assists women in achieving their full leadership potential.
Meggan Kerber, Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Alvernia University, is this year’s ATHENA recipient. For more than 25 years, Kerber has served the non-profit business community in management, fundraising, marketing and special events.
Currently, Kerber serves on the board of Riverfront Federal Credit Union, Pennsylvania’s Americana Region and the Theron Cook Don’t Quit Foundation. She has donated her time and talents to numerous organizations such as Hannah’s Hope, Lebanon Valley Farm Exposition Center, Centro Hispano, The Historical Society of Berks County, Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County, Girls on the Run of Berks County, Laurel House and more.
“I am truly humbled to be recognized as the 2025 ATHENA Award recipient. My deepest gratitude to GRCA Women2Women for this incredible honor. I am inspired daily by the women and men in Berks County who lead with integrity, mentor with generosity, and uplift others through their actions. Their example has shaped my own journey—a career rooted in service, mentorship, and a commitment to humility and peacemaking. This award is a testament not just to my work but also to the collective strength of our community,” said Kerber.
The EmpowHER Award celebrates the next generation of women leaders in Berks County, recognizing a young woman who exemplifies the values of Women2Women: leadership, empowerment, community impact and the pursuit of excellence.
Sindura Sridhar, a senior at Wilson High School, is this year’s inaugural EmpowHER Award winner. Sridhar is the founding leader of Stand Together Against Racism (STAR) initiative and the editor of the newspaper at the high school. Additionally, Sridhar has served as the Regional Vice President of Future Business Leaders of America for the past three years.
On a broader scale, Sridhar holds leadership positions on the Youth Volunteer Corps of Reading (YVC) and the International Youth Advisory Board (IYAB). In this work, she has directly shared youth-led service projects, provided mentorship to younger volunteers and contributed to global conversations about youth leadership.
“As the 2025 EmpowHER Recipient, I am deeply honored to be recognized for my work, but I know that nothing can truly be accomplished without the support of those around me. This recognition is not just a reflection of my efforts, but of the community that has been there every step of the way. I hope to continue advocating for change to create a world where everyone has the same opportunity to thrive,” said Sridhar.
Christi Terefenko, Co-Founder of VOiCEup Berks, nominated Sridhar for the award.
“Sindura Sridhar is a remarkable young leader whose passion for service, advocacy, and scientific discovery sets her apart. Through her work with VOiCEup Berks and Youth Volunteer Corps of Reading she has empowered others, championed inclusion and driven meaningful change in our community. The EmpowHER Award is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication, and we are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished,” said Terefenko.
Both awards will be handed out during W2W’s Conference & Expo on Wednesday, April 16 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading. To register for the event, please visit greaterreading.org/expo25.
