Reading, PA – The Greater Berks Development Fund (GBDF), an affiliate of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), today announced the appointment of Alvernia University President Dr. Glynis A. Fitzgerald, Ph.D.; Nicholas D, Stoltzfus, DESCCO Design and Construction President; and Fromm President & COO John Hanna to its board of directors.
In July, Dr. Fitzgerald became Alvernia University’s eighth president and the first female layperson appointed in the University’s history. She served as senior vice president and provost for four years, helping lead Alvernia through exceptional growth and transformation.
Stoltzfus has led DESCCO since 2005. The company has been operating in Eastern Pennsylvania since 1976 and provides high-quality construction, refurbishing and renovation services to its clients.
Hanna has spent his career in the electrical distribution industry. He joined Fromm in 1997 as
Commercial Construction Channel Manager and received a steady stream of promotions with increased responsibility including VP Sales, Executive VP and ultimately President and COO.
“We are excited to add three local leaders with wide-ranging expertise, who will use their time and talents to further the goals of GBDF,” said Dan Langdon, GBDF Board Chairman.
Additionally, Jaime Perez, Deputy Director at Berks County Redevelopment Authority, and Chris Shellhammer, Reading Hospitality COO, have been appointed to the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board of Directors (GRCCI).
In his role, Perez assists the Executive Director in overseeing the Authority’s activities, which contributes to making Berks County an excellent place to live, work and play. He is a seasoned professional in the redevelopment of obsolete housing, preservation of historic properties and lands, and new construction projects.
Shellhamer has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, where he has built a proven track record of sustaining revenue and profit gains.
