Attracting talent to Greater Reading is a shared effort. Employers promote career opportunities within their organizations, while the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) works to showcase the region as a place where people want to live, work and build a life.
To support that effort, GRCA has assembled a collection of resources employers can use when recruiting new employees, relocating talent or onboarding team members who are new to the region.

A snapshot of what it’s like to live and work in Greater Reading.
This guide highlights the region’s neighborhoods, outdoor recreation, arts and culture, higher education opportunities and proximity to major East Coast cities. It’s designed to help prospective employees and their families quickly understand the lifestyle and opportunities the region offers.
Employers can use this guide during recruitment, relocation conversations and onboarding.

Lifestyle Marketing Platform: Meet Greater Reading
Meet Greater Reading is the region’s lifestyle marketing platform highlighting the people, places and experiences that make this community unique.
Employers can share the site with candidates exploring the area or employees considering relocation.
The platform features:

- Career pathways and industries
- Outdoor recreation and quality of life
- Community voices and local stories
Ways to Use These Resources
Employers across Greater Reading use these tools to help attract and welcome talent.
Examples include:
- Sharing the Guide to Greater Reading with candidates during interviews
- Including the Meet Greater Reading website in relocation packets
- Providing new hires with local resources to help them connect to the community
- Highlighting regional quality-of-life assets when recruiting outside the region

Wage & Policies Survey/Report
Regional compensation benchmarking to support hiring and workforce planning.

The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance has partnered with the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce to gather wage and policy data from businesses across Berks County to create a valuable resource for employers. By participating in the Wage & Policies Survey, you’ll help build a clearer picture of local compensation trends, benefits and workplace policies—insights that directly support better decision-making for businesses like yours.
Regional Insights
Additional workforce and economic development data such as hourly wage reports (based on SOC codes) and industry overviews are available upon request through GRCA to support employers as they grow and compete for talent.

Transportation Resources
Commute PA
Commute PA provides free services to reduce traffic congestion in the region. They help commuters explore transportation options other than driving alone and engage employers who can provide transportation resources as an added benefit to their workforce. Commute PA offers a free ride-matching program to help commuters find a carpool, make smarter commute choices, record non-drive alone trips and qualify for special rewards. Commuters can be eligible for the Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program and qualify for special rewards by recording non-drive alone trips in Commute PA:
Record your carpool, vanpool, bike, walk or transit trips with the Commute PA ride-matching program and qualify for special rewards. Those enrolled in the Commute PA program who use and record at least two green trips per week for their work or higher education commute, by carpool, vanpool, bike, walk or transit, would be eligible for the Commute PA Emergency Ride Home reimbursement benefit.
