Meet the Berks County Delegation at our 2025 State Legislator Breakfast
Join the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) at the Reading Hospital’s Main Campus on Thursday, May 1, for the 2025 State Legislator Breakfast. Come network with our state legislators and hear a panel discussion on the latest news from the state capitol and how our delegation is working together to support the economic development of the Greater Reading region. Be at the forefront of the discussion with our elected officials to promote a pro-business policy agenda and offer solutions to build a healthy and competitive economy. The following state senators and representatives have confirmed they will attend:

Finanta Federal Credit Union Coming Soon to Downtown Reading
Finanta Federal Credit Union, formally known as Community First Fund Credit Union, will be purchasing a new location in the heart of downtown Reading to serve community members with all of their banking needs. Products and services thoughtfully designed to meet its members wherever they are on the financial access pathway. More details to come later this year.
Financing is available for the Pa Catalyst Loan Fund
For-profit, small businesses in Pennsylvania can access funding towards machinery and equipment, commercial real estate and working capital. The Loan Fund offers LOW Interest rate of 5% with a maximum loan amount of $200,000. It requires a funding match with a separate bank or CDFI.

Healthcare IP Meeting
The Greater Reading Healthcare Connections Industry Partnership held its first meeting of the year at Penn State Berks Campus. There were 24 people in attendance from local healthcare, education and partner organizations. Topics included an overview of PSU Berks Healthcare programs and enrollments, presentation from Commute PA, partner updates and a discussion on employment trends. Kutztown Area Economic Update & Outreach Meeting
GRCA held a regional economic update and workforce meeting at Radius Corporation, in Kutztown, Pa. There were 22 people in attendance from local businesses and partner organizations. Topics included an overview of Radius Corporation and recent economic and workforce trends. A tour of the manufacturing facility followed the meeting.

New Legislator Meet & Greet with Representatives Eric Weaknecht and Jacklyn Rusnock
Earlier this month, GRCA hosted a New Legislator Meet & Greet with Pa. State Representatives Eric Weaknecht and Jacklyn Rusnock, offering local business and community leaders a chance to get to know their newly elected legislators in a relaxed setting. The event focused on building connections rather than politics, allowing attendees to learn more about the representatives’ backgrounds, experiences and commitment to serving the Greater Reading region. Both Weaknecht and Rusnock shared insights into their journeys to public office and their dedication to representing the community. The gathering encouraged open conversations, fostering a sense of collaboration between the legislators and those they serve. Events like these reinforce GRCA’s commitment to strengthening relationships between local leaders and elected officials, ensuring a more connected and engaged business community.
